Penn Station to Coney Island - 20 miles

So it looks like we are the group for Saturday's walk from Penn Station
to Coney Island.  Let's plan to meet at our usual spot - inside Penn
Station, on the upper, Amtrak, level, in front of TGI Fridays (and right
next to the bathrooms), near the 8th Avenue and 33rd Street exit.  And
let's try hard to gather by around 8:15, so we can actually be on our
way up the newly re-opened escalator by 8:30.  This walk always seems to
take longer than I think it will, so let's really try to leave on time.
We'll take our usual 34th Street route to the Hudson, then down to the
Seaport, over the Brooklyn Bridge, and then through Downtown Brooklyn,
Cobble Hill, a bit of Carroll Gardens, Park Slope, through Prospect
Park, wending our way to the top of Ocean Parkway, and down semi-bucolic
Ocean Parkway all the way to the boardwalk and NATHAN'S.  Then we are
right across the street from the D, F, N and Q trains for your
transportation pleasure home.

  1. Ah ... Jen and I might not have made it to Coney Island, but we had a wonderful subway adventure ... then a lovely cab ride from Fulton Street to Penn Station ... and then ... a hamburger and french fries at Lindy's!
Wish we could have joined Burt and his remaining babes at Nathan's!
    Next time ... right Jen?
